Foods to Avoid (and Enjoy!) with TMJD

Avoid foods that stress your jaw:

  • Hard foods (nuts, chips, raw veggies)

  • Chewy or sticky foods (bagels, gum, tough meat)

  • Wide biting (burgers, large sandwiches)

TMJ-friendly foods:

  • Smoothies and soups

  • Soft proteins (eggs, tofu, fish)

  • Cooked veggies and soft grains



Tip: Cut food into small bites and chew evenly on both sides.
